ONE Community is a network of Black Business Leaders and Professionals in the GTA, created to connect, showcase, and elevate Black excellence at UTSC Department of Management. Our core components are Opportunities, Networking, and Engagement. We aim to increase Black representation within the Management Department's space by presenting our members with opportunities to get involved, network, and engage with the UTSC community. Our mission is to nurture the leaders of tomorrow through intentional connection with Black leaders of today.

Founding Principles

We were established in accordance with the principles in the UTSC five-year Strategic Plan of Inspiring Inclusive Excellence, the Scarborough Charter, and the UTSC Campus Curriculum Review, which include:

  • Holistic Learning.

  • Communities of Trust and Belonging.

  • Collaborations and Partnerships.

  • Create Space for Openness and Push Back Against Bias.

  • Normalize Black Excellence in Academic Spaces.

  • Develop Spaces of Belonging for Black Faculty, Students, and Staff.
