COLLABORATIVE SPECIALIZATION | COMPARATIVE, INTERNATIONAL AND DEVELOPMENT EDUCATION (CIDE)
Comparative, International and Development Education (CIDE) is one of the world's largest, most diverse and dynamic graduate specializations in the field of comparative education. The CIDE specialization's broad and diverse scope will appeal to Canadian and international students interested in applying a comparative and international lens in their professional work at home or abroad.

Le CREFO détient la responsabilité administrative de la spécialisation conjointe intitulée : Éducation, francophonies et diversité. L'objectif des cours de la spécialisation conjointe est d'analyser les réalités éducatives et sociales spécifiques aux différentes francophonies locales, nationales et internationales, en adoptant une approche multidisciplinaire. Les étudiantes et les étudiants abordent de manière critique les enjeux majeurs actuels dans le domaine de l'éducation, tout en développant des compétences solides en recherche.

The Family Care Office provides confidential guidance, resources, referrals, educational programming and advocacy for the University of Toronto community and their families. Drop in to learn how they raise awareness of family care issues central to the achievement of education and employment equity at OISE and the University of Toronto.

Drop in to ask questions about becoming a student at OISE and the international student experience at U of T. Meet staff and current students at this drop-in booth.

OISE STUDENT EXPERIENCE DROP-IN (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Only)
Drop in to speak to an OISE Student Success Counsellor about some of the student supports available at OISE | University of Toronto.

OISE LIBRARY
The OISE library has the largest collection of education materials in Canada, including an extensive research collection, education journal titles, media resources, current and historical curriculum materials and textbooks, and specialized collections of children’s literature, modern languages, and women’s studies in education.

Special Feature: Master of Teaching | Black Future Educators’ Pathway Info Session

3:30 pm - 4:00 pm

The Master of Teaching (MT) program’s Black Future Educators’ Pathway initiative offers a range of supports and opportunities meant to increase the number of Black educators entering the profession and enhance their experience. This session will be hosted by Dr. Andrew Campbell, an OISE alumni and a current faculty member in the Master of Teaching program, and Dr. Gurpreet Sahmbi. The session will provide an overview of the initiative, featuring the voices of current MT students and alums. It is intended for prospective Black applicants to the MT program.

The Indigenous Education Network (IEN) is a group of students, faculty and community members who share a common commitment to and passion for Indigenous Education and Research. Founded in 1989 by Indigenous students, the IEN provides an Indigenous presence at OISE and seeks to establish a forum for ongoing and dynamic discussion, action and change.

The Indigenous Education Network:

  • Supports students and their study interests in Indigenous education.
  • Advances education research on Indigenous issues.
  • Actively encourages the development of Indigenous curriculum.
  • Collaborates with campus and community groups to strengthen initiatives related to our mission.

The IEN hosts guest speakers, socials and teachings throughout the year as a way for Indigenous and non-Indigenous students to participate in experiential learning, establish relationships and network. They can be reached at ien@utoronto.ca.

Spécialisation conjointe Éducation, francophonies et diversité offerte par le CREFO. (crefo.oise@utoronto.ca)

Les cours de la spécialisation conjointe ont pour but d’examiner, dans une perspective multidisciplinaire, les réalités éducatives et sociales propres à la francophonie locale, nationale et internationale. Les connaissances acquises permettent de développer chez les étudiantes et les étudiants une perspective critique en ce qui a trait aux grandes questions de l’heure dans le domaine de l’éducation et d’acquérir une solide formation à la recherche. Les étudiantes et les étudiants admis dans un programme de maîtrise (M.Ed. ou M.A.) ou de doctorat (Ph.D. ou Ed.D.) dans les départements de Curriculum, Teaching and Learning (CTL) ou de Social Justice Education (SJE) peuvent s’inscrire à la spécialisation conjointe. 

The OISE Alumni Association (OISEAA) acts as the alumni voice on matters that affect our community. Together, we create the events and experiences that foster a lasting bond between alumni and alma mater. 

The OISEAA provides a meaningful volunteer experience in governance, planning and community building for its members. Over 100,000 alumni stand to benefit by developing and promoting themselves through OISE.

November 1, 2023 - Deadline for funded programs (i.e. funded PhD and full-time MA)

November 15, 2023 - Deadline for Master of Teaching, MA in Child Study and Education, MEd in Counselling Psychology (Counselling & Psychotherapy field) only

December 1, 2023: Deadline for all other programs (including MEd, EdD, flex-time PhD and part-time MA)
